Therapy for Children, Teens, Adults, and Families

A Safe, Supportive Space to Grow

Therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s a space to better understand yourself, improve relationships, and develop new ways to cope with life’s challenges.

At Young Minds Psychology, we take an integrative approach to therapy. Every individual and family is unique, which is why we tailor our approach to meet your goals, needs, and personal history. Therapy is a collaborative process – grounded in evidence-based practices and built on a strong therapeutic relationship – where we work together to support growth, healing, and lasting change.

Therapy For Parents

Parenting a child who is struggling with big emotions can be challenging. We provide parenting and co-parenting support to help parents understand each other, their children’s mental health needs, and respond in ways that promote change, emotional well-being, and family harmony.

Our Therapeutic Approach

Our work is guided by three core pillars:

  • Evidence-Based: All interventions are grounded in clinical research and best practices.

  • Trauma-Informed: We recognize how past experiences shape present challenges.

  • Family-Centered: We actively involve parents and caregivers when appropriate to support long-term growth.

Our Therapy Modalities

  • EFT helps people understand and manage strong emotions. It’s about learning where feelings come from and how to use them in a helpful way, instead of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

  • EFFT supports parents and caregivers in helping their children feel safe, supported, and understood. It teaches families how to work together to manage emotions and improve communication.

  • CBT helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. It teaches skills to change unhelpful thinking and build better habits for coping with stress or anxiety.

  • ACT helps people accept tough thoughts or feelings without getting stuck in them. It also helps them focus on what's important in life and take action based on their values.

  • EFST teaches parents how to respond to their child’s big emotions with calm and care. It helps adults feel more confident in supporting their child’s mental health.

  • DBT-informed teaches ways to handle big emotions, stay calm, and solve problems without hurting yourself or others. It’s especially helpful for people who feel emotions very strongly.

  • ABFT works on healing trust between parents and children or teens. It focuses on rebuilding safety and connection so families can feel closer and more supported.

  • IPT focuses on improving relationships with others. It helps people understand how their feelings are affected by life events and changes, like grief, conflict, or transitions.
