Sophia Antonina
Clinical Associate
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families, and focus on building strong, collaborative relationships with both children and parents. My approach is to meet each child where they are, while also helping families better understand what is going on and how to respond in ways that are consistent, effective, and promote meaningful change. I aim to help children build skills they can carry forward, while also improving overall family functioning and day-to-day interactions.
I have experience supporting children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive concerns (OCD), phobias, behavioural difficulties, social-emotional challenges, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, and neurodevelopmental differences. I work with parents to help them better understand their child’s needs and feel more confident implementing strategies at home.
I am currently completing my Master of Psychology (M.Psy) at Adler Graduate Professional School and hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto. I work under the supervision of a registered psychologist. My work is informed by an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I incorporate structured strategies, such as exposure-based interventions where appropriate, while adapting my approach to the developmental needs of each child and the unique dynamics within each family.
