Supervised Practice
My interest in psychology stems from my love of meeting new people, interest in research relating to personality and psychopathology, and a desire to help.
My clinical experience includes time at a family health team in a medical office, private practice, a school board, Southdown Institute (a residential treatment facility for clergy members of various religious denominations), and the York University Psychology Clinic. I work with children, adolescents, parents, and families. I use a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive, client centered, behavioural, emotion focused, and trauma informed approaches.
I received both my Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University, and I am currently in my year of supervised practice to finalize my registration as an independent psychologist. My clinical research has primarily focused on the use of trauma therapy with both children and adults, and I have written numerous journal articles and book chapters on the subject. In addition to my work at Young Minds Psychology, I also teach psychology at York University.
