Sara Rependa
Ph.D., C.Psych.
Dr. Sara Lynn Rependa (she/her) is a clinical psychologist who provides treatment and assessment services to children, adolescents and adults, as well as caregiver consultation and support. She aims to work with her clients in a way that focuses on fostering safety and security, empowers them to take agency in their own development, and takes a strengths-based approach.
Dr. Rependa’s treatment approach primarily draws from psychodynamic and Emotion Focused /Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFT/EFFT) theory, while often also using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed strategies. She works with a diverse group of clients with a focus on the treatment and assessment of child and adult complex trauma and PTSD. She also frequently works with individuals who struggle with complex or high-risk presentations such as self-harm and suicidality, personality disorders, OCD, ADHD, Autism, relational challenges, and mood/anxiety disorders.
Dr. Rependa frequently work with children, adolescents, and adults who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She aims to help them explore and process their gender and sexual identities, as well as how their queerness intersects with other important aspects of their mental health, such as trauma, neurodiversity, relationships, and socio-cultural experiences and marginalization. Dr. Rependa has experience helping individuals and their families navigate the Ontario medical system to access comprehensive, gender-affirming and neurodiversity-affirming care. She also has experience consulting with the caregivers of queer and gender-diverse youth as they seek to understand and support their children’s needs.
